I was wondering if people avoid some coin shops due to either location or appearance.  I have seen some shops in a beat up old building with bars over the windows and then other shops that are in very nice looking buildings and locations.  Just wondering.

Just in the area near my US residence I've gone to about 15 different coin shops.  I did not avoid any of them due to appearance, despite that some of them looked like they were under seige and had run down taverns next door.  Having said that, the shops I ended up going to more than once have invariably been the ones without massive security or gruff dealers.  This had more to do with the inventory than anything else, however.  These days, many of those beat-up looking coin shops seem to have turned into bullion traders, and those books of world coins are now buried in the back room, and no one wants to get them out.
